Google Wins April Fools Day Forever and Ever: Google Maps for Famicom/NES

We aren’t a news site – never will be, but Google’s April Fools Day gift to the world is just too damn good not to share.

Google has developed an 8-bit version of their popular Google Maps service for release on Famicom and NES (no word yet on a Master System or Turbo Grafx release). You can quickly get into the beta by visiting Google Maps and clicking “Quest” in the upper-right hand. I would gladly pay way too much money for the prop cartridges they used in the video, which can be seen below.

Google, you haven’t just won April Fools Day, you’ve won my heart. Help yourself to any of my personal data, and I’ll get right on creating a Fantastic Neighborhood Google+ page.
