Kickstarter Round up: Maiden Machine Tactics Project
This weeks kickstarter roundup runs features 2 titles that could not be more different than each other.
The Fund this ASAP pick of the week
Ends July 31st
This one is right around the corner and as of writing is under 1k away from its funding goal. Project Maiden is an indie undertaking, attempting to build a what the author and his a bit too early 2000′s facial hair describes as a reverse Zelda-like, where your character starts with all their powers and progressively loses them.
The monetary goal for this title is not very high and it looks like it should just pass the goalpost at the way it is tracking.

The watch your life slip away as you paint army men pick
Ends Aug 10th
This one does not really need your help, though you may want to hop on board the steam powered zeitgeist. Based on the popular tabletop miniatures game from Privateer press, this was a title that was originally slated to come through traditional publishing channels but was turned into a crowdfunded title.
A tactics game ala XCOM: Enemy Unknown where players utilize characters and spells from the full tabletop game, you play as a warcaster, a wizard who controls steam powered mechs and armies in skirmish battles against other factions in a post medieval steam punk setting. If the game follows suit with the tabletop game it will be a highly strategic undertaking.
Goals and rewards for the game are very good, but more so if you play the tabletop game or any of the offshoot titles (warining, as a hobby this game has the ability to suck years of your life away into a dark void of painting, gluing, traveling, and carrying a super heavy bag of minis around.) The $350 pledge level is probably a must if you play the tabletop, but the $40 dollar level is also pretty attractive for even the non minis player who just wants a little taste of something new.
